Etsy: Your place to buy & sell all things handmade

If you haven’t already experienced the joy that is Etsy—stop reading this post and immediately head over to visit the site right now. I discovered Etsy several years ago and since then, it’s quickly become one of my daily lunchtime clicks whenever I want to look for unique, homemade wares ranging from jewelry, clothing, vintage goods, to many other things.

I have my own store now

I recently joined the company called Etsy and opened online art &  jewelry store with them. Etsy is an e-commerce company (like ebay) that currently limits sales to handmade items.

Etsy does lots of things like ebay. They charge Sellers a listing fee and final sale percentage (although at $.20 and 3.5% they are way below what ebay charges) and listing stays for four months, not for couple of days. There is an ebay-like feedback system, and Etsy have integrated PayPal as a payment option.

The way Etsy implemented the tags method makes customers to shop very easy. Tags are keywords which used to sort items on Etsy. The first tag on an item determines which top-level category it’s listed under. Subcategories on Etsy are also based on tags. For Buyers tags are Categories. Just go to Categories section and select anything you interested in.

Another interesting way to buy is using Etsy Forum. You can post there new topic with request about what you looking for: model, color, made materials; and many-many Etsysts- Sellers will post for you related items.

Etsy has futures to shop by Colors or using Geolocator as well.

Try it! It’s really fun!

Future Alchemy section is another place where Buyers could enter requests for custom items. Sellers would then bid for the opportunity to do this. Currently this option is under construction but hopefully will be up soon.

You can visit  Etsy shops for handmade items, which made for you with love and care.

It’s really Very Easy Shop and Sell with Etsy!

Valentine's Gifts- Unique crochet jewelry

Happy Valentine’s Day from CraftJewel.com

Every February we celebrate Valentine’s Day by giving flowers and gifts to those we love. We do this in honor of Saint Valentine. You may be wondering, “Who is St. Valentine”? Legend has it that Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those that were married. With this thought in mind he outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of building a stronger military base. Supposedly, Valentine, decided this decree just wasn’t fair and chose to marry young couples secretly. When Emperor Claudius II found out about Valentine’s actions he had him put to death.

Another legend has it that Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor’s daughter. Before he was put to death he sent the first ‘valentine’ himself when he wrote her a letter and signed it ‘Your Valentine’, words still used on cards today. Perhaps we’ll never know the true identity and story behind the man named St. Valentine, but this much is for sure…February has been the month to celebrate love for a long time, dating clear back to the Middle Ages. In fact, Valentines ranks second only to Christmas in number of greeting cards sent.

* Jewelry Designers website

December 3, 2007

This website was started to promote new names in Fashion Jewelry design industry. Feel free to post your business on http://all-jewelry-designers.com/partners.asp

I started my jewelry designs in November 2006. In Anthropology-store I saw beautiful crochet necklace from beads and decide to make one myself. It was a long way to find strong and nice looking thread and gemstones. My first necklace was from turquoise and for crochet I was using French acrylic silk. My favorite color is silver-black, it looks like metal, but gives light to the necklace. After I made it everybody asked me where I bought it and complement me with beautiful work I done. I made couple crochet necklaces for my friends, and after for friends of friends, and finally I decide to start jewelry business.
